Daniel is a seasoned cybersecurity technology leader across multiple product and service domains. Having held positions such as CTO, Chief Cybersecurity Architect, VP Security R&D, Director of Advanced Cybersecurity and now CTO (Security) for TD Bank.
Daniel has a deep technical background in security that has involved novel R&D, product and standards development, as well as working as a leader/contributor across multiple industry and government groups. He has been a key technical contributor to U.S. government expert testimony and cyber policy. Daniel has been involved with and/or has led working groups in IEEE, IEC, U.S. National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS), and the U.S. White House Office of Science and Technology for defining security standards, best practices, and strategies. He has written multiple patents in the security and cryptology field and contributed to numerous industry and government reports and strategies globally.
Daniel has started and worked in organizations of all types and sizes and brings an entrepreneurial and innovation driven mindset to all the work he does and teams he leads. Daniel has over 15 years of experience in information security, software/systems engineering, and technology executive leadership. Having held executive positions in various large industrial, telecom and security companies, Daniel currently leads Security Services and Engineering for TD bank. He is responsible for all security technology and innovation roadmaps as well as engineering and implementation. He leads multiple teams in areas of cloud security, endpoint security, data/application security, network security, as well as nextgen areas focused on applications of machine learning and analytics as well as automation to the security field.
